The tradition to offer decorated eggs existed long before the Christian era.
Because Easter, for the Christians, celebrates the Christ resurrection that occurred in spring, the egg symbolism also found its place in those family rituals. The tradition to offer eggs on Easter morning appeared around the 4th century in Europe, in Egypt around the 11th century and in France around the 15th century.
Following the tradition in a family spirit, on this occasion, Le Domaine d’Ablon organized an Easter egg hunt in the gardens of the property for the great delight of young and old alike. Our guests could thus, with their family, children or friends, look for the chocolate eggs made by our chef Jérôme Billochon, and shrewdly hidden in the herb garden or in the vegetable garden. At the end of their stay, our guests returned with an egg offered by Le Domaine d’Ablon.
A simple pleasure and a delightful moment shared!
